Sheffield Hallam constituency has existed since 1885. Visually, it is one of Britain's most beautiful areas, resting in the foot of the Peak District. The views from the constituency over the rest of Sheffield are breathtaking.

Sheffield Hallam borders High Peak and North East Derbyshire. Sheffield Hallam includes the wards of Crookes, Dore and Totley, Ecclesall, Fulwood and Stannington. The University of Sheffield and the Sheffield Hallam University sit within Sheffield Hallam, which has a large student population.

Sheffield Hallam has traditionally been a Conservative stronghold but has elected Lib Dem MPs since 1997. Boundary changes at the next general election make the seat a three-way marginal.
